Subject: Cosmoline stripping

After going through the 6 hour ordeal that was stripping all the cosmoline off of a Yugoslav military rifle I think that it may could be applied to Chibi Moon. The cosmoline itself wouldn't do anything but make her sticky and goopy, being similar to vaseline but thicker and brown - it's the stripping of it off of the figure that would be the fun part. Here's why:

To get cosmoline off of the rifle I used several solvents. These included orange degreaser, Formby's furniture refinisher (on the wood), brake cleaner, and acetone. The parts were also soaked in very hot soapy water for a while. The solvents were used in conjunction with #0000 steel wool (to be rough on the cosmoline but not scratch the finish - you would probably want to use a coarser variety) and a toothbrush. All of this was done over a metal pan (a cheap aluminum turkey roasting pan) and using aluminum muffin tins to hold solvent.

All of this stuff except cosmoline can be found at Wal-Mart. Do be advised to use rubber solvent gloves when working with the solvents - some of them are pretty toxic.

So basically it would be a test to see if Chibi Moon can survive the military. Being as she's pretty dangerous and frightening, it would be as a weapon that goes into armory storage packed in cosmoline and is then taken out and cleaned for much murder and mayhem.
